Description: Instituted in 1963 to serve the Chinese speaking population. Has four constituent colleges. Considered a good school with rigorous admission standards. Conversion to three year degree program began in 1994 when the same admission requirements as other higher education institutions in Hong Kong were adopted. Current admission requirements: Hong Kong Certificate of Education and Hong Kong Higher Level Examination (12 years of education) or Hong Kong Advanced Level Examinations (13 years of education).

Master's: 1-2 years after appropriate first degree (minimum of class II honours or grade point average of 3.0/4.0); usually by coursework, exam or thesis.
Ph.D.: 2-7 years by coursework, exam and thesis.
