Description: Instituted in 1984 with emphasis in science and technology. Until 1991 pre-university study was comprised of ordinary and advanced levels representing 13 years of education; the bachelor's degree was 3-4 years in duration. Since the 1990-91 academic year the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education, representing 12 years of education, is the usual admission requirement. The degree length is 4-6 years.
