Description: Instituted in 1666. In the 1970's reorganized to include several institutes in Malmo and Lund. Now the largest research and higher education institution in Scandinavia. The usual admission requirement is the avgångsbetyg from gymnasieskola (upper secondary leaving certificate) (12-13 years of education under l970 law; 12 years under 1992 law).
